From ages 3 to 103, all can support our community!

Check out NBC4’s interview with AWC volunteer Elmer Brown here!

In November, we shared the inspiring story of Elmer Brown, a 94-years young, community-minded neighbor who volunteers his time and uses a local church’s workshop to refurbish furniture.

The beautiful pieces he brings back to life are then donated to local organizations, like A Wider Circle. Mr. Brown’s efforts spread joy and kindness throughout the community as the beautiful refurbished pieces are redistributed into the homes of neighbors across our region.

Mr. Brown’s dedication to his community and the ways he shares his talent touched many hearts. It spread beyond our wider community and even reached the news desk of our friends over at NBC4.

In an interview with Mr. Brown, NBC4 delved into the emotional and practical aspects of his work and how it has been making a profound difference in the lives of many individuals.

We’re immensely grateful to Mr.Brown and the thousands of volunteers like him who offer their time, skills, and energy to help create a community where all have what they need to thrive.

Special thanks to NBC4 for helping amplify this story and our work!
