“My apartment burned to the ground on December 6th and we lost everything. It's been a struggle trying to rebuild… [but] it is so nice to have an organization that can provide help. Now I can get uninterrupted sleep since my baby will be sleeping in a crib - we had been sleeping in a twin bed together.†----Anonymous
"I
am so happy to get a crib. My son Anthony was born on December 15 and we
do not have a crib for him. We cannot afford one. Right now he sleeps in
his car seat. He doesn't like to sleep with us. Ashley from Mary's Center
visited our house and saw that we had nothing. She gave me your name and number and told me you could give me a crib. I was so glad because I would not have been able to buy one on my own. In
my country, Honduras, we don't have services like this. I couldn't believe
that someone would give me a crib for free. I am so happy with everything
I got. You gave me so many things. I love it all. Thank you so much. Thank
you."

"Robin
is so happy with everything. She told me that all of you were so nice. She was
so excited that she got so much stuff. She is so grateful. This was the first
time that I used your services. I have many more patients that could use your
help. Once we figured out how to get a truck, which turned out to be much
less expensive than we thought, everything else was easy." ----Janet commenting on her client

"On Monday I got a message from A Wider Circle
to come in for the crib and other furniture. On Tuesday I got a call from
Delia and she told me that she had delivered her son Andy. It was perfect.
I thought "Wow, they are going to have a crib." I was worried about where
all of the children would sleep. They now have 4 children, including twin girls
who are 18 months. I was worried that the baby would sleep in the parents'
bed and the twins would jump on the bed and hurt the baby. Most of the moms
I work with don't have cribs and their babies sleep with them." ----Rosa, social worker in Prince George's County
“Coming here was super; it was easy and very helpful. I got several items, including a dining room table. We are currently eating on the couch. Now my son will have a table where we can put his highchair. My wife is going to be very happy and very appreciative.†----Sgt. Michael, member of Operation Homefront
"My heart is full. I feel good. I got nice things that I really needed. I am pleased with everything. I appreciate everything that I received. This is really nice. I got sick last year and I was in hospital from January through June. When you are not at home things happen. My children don't have to sleep on the floor anymore and I can take the sheets off of my windows." ----Robin
“He slept with that [new] toy all night. His father was just killed...I just sat up all night at the frame of the bed thinking and thanking God that there are people like you and a place like this. My house feels like a home again.†----Anonymous |
