Restorative Health Program
The goal of A Wider Circle’s Restorative Health Program is to help the people we serve to remediate past and current trauma and build psychological resilience and health. The goal will be achieved through both programs and creating access to existing resources through partner collaborations. Each one of our four client-based programs can connect with consultative mental health services and health and mental health resources through Restorative Health. In our Neighborhood Partnership sites, we bring classes, health and mental health consultations community resources heal and strengthen our residents. We are also building partnerships with other health providers in the neighborhoods to provide a strong network working together to serve.
Launched in September 2017, our Restorative Health Program has hosted World of Wellness sessions for 16 weeks, including Essentials for Health, Goal-setting, Yoga, Meditation, all of which were taught at Highland Dwellings and Additions in Southeast D.C. The program has also formed partnerships with George Washington University’s ISCOPES (nutrition) and Holy Cross Hospital (bereavement). Circle Yoga and the Opening Heart Mindfulness Community are also community partners.
