Kate B. McGloon
Kate McGloon has significant experience with a number of local area non-profits, serving as a former Board Member and President of Kids on Boats, an organization providing sailing programs and teaching environmental awareness to disadvantaged youth in the greater Washington metropolitan area. (Kids on Boats currently exists as DC SAIL, a program of the national Maritime Heritage Foundation.) Kate currently serves as a communications advisor on the Board of the TurnFirst Foundation, an Internet based resource for individuals diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Kate’s primary responsibilities have included communications, program development, fundraising and strategic planning. Kate also is a member of the Groton Women’s Network, an alumnae committee that strives to sustain the School’s call to service by supporting projects that foster involvement of women in the Network, both within their local communities and on a national level.
Kate is Managing Principal of KCB Consulting, providing strategic communications counsel in environmental public affairs and corporate responsibility, sustainability, stakeholder outreach and crisis and risk communication. Prior to establishing KCB Consulting, Kate spent over thirty years collectively at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Environmental Issues Management (EIM) and the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Kate has been married for 18 years and is the proud mother of three children, ranging in age from 12 to 16. She is a graduate of Yale University where she received the McCabe Scholarship, recognizing academic strength and exceptional volunteer activity in support of the community.
